This is my entry for Shelli Gardner's creative challenge. I had so many thoughts of what could be done that the challenge for me was chosing 'one'.
Ever since I did the sunset sky for one of Makeesha's Challenges, I have been wanting to try out the "stormy" look. For those who don't know, I am an artist (when I'm not being a mum or a Stampin' Up demonstrator!) and I paint and draw landscapes. One of my very favourite subjects for an artwork is a dark stormy sky. I love them. I love the awesomeness and power that they portray. To me it is a glimpse of the awesomeness of God, and his creation is always an inspiration to me. So I guess it is fitting that at some point I would bring this into the world of stamping!
I have used Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke inks. The card stock is Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke. The edges have been distressed to add some texture. I tied a knot in a thin piece of card stock to create the little bow. The hill in the background has been achieved by applying the ink pad directly to the card stock and then sponging a little.
Thanks for stopping by — I hope your weekend has been a good one!
It's gorgeous Shelley. I think you've captured the stormy look really well.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. You've done the sky really well.
ReplyDeleteThat stormy sky is unreal, I love how you have coloured this card, it really does capture the awesomeness of our Creator. His beauty is all around us and cannnot be denied. Thanks for an inspirational card.
