Hi There…

Wow!!! Just have to mention that I am the winner for Keesh's colour challenge this week : ) I was so excited when I saw my card up there on her blog. Anyway… back to earth now… this is some of what I've been up to today.

I made these cards this morning. We had two boy birthday parties on today and so I spent some time trying to come up with something. This first card was for a one year old so I found it easy to find an appropriate stamp — the hippo was really cute. I am loving the Urban Garden DSP so I had to use a bit of that too : )

This card was for a six year old boy and I found it more of a challenge — but I loved the magnifying glass that Karen Thomas used with her Bugs and Kisses card, so I made use of that idea with the dragonfly from the Unfrogettable stamp set that is now retired. A little bit of "Thump and Bump" that Nicki Tidbold showed us at Convention, and some more of that DSP. I wasn't so keen on the outcome of this card but I don't think the boy we gave it to will be worried — it's a card! LOL

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great weekend!

Keesh's Colour Challenge

I couldn't wait to have a go at this one. I really love the colours. Just had to play along ASAP in this challenge of Keesh's!!

I have water coloured the flower then cut it out and used a dimensional to place it. The leaves I stamped in Chocolate Chip, then coloured with Sage Shadow — in the end that is all I have used of that colour, I think just a touch of it is enough for this card.
I have used the bleaching technique for the backgrounds. My upline Ann Craig recently told me how she does the bleaching, and I thought I'd try it out. It is such a beautiful effect. On the Really Rust card I have stamped over the top of the bleach with a touch of Chocolate Chip ink.
I haven't done any tearing : ) but felt it needed some distressing on the edges. The final touch was a bit of Choc Chip ribbon. I was going to put a knot on it but it was too over the top — since it needed something in that spot, I chose a Choc Chip button from Button Latte.

Well… I need to leave the creative bug in the office now and go and do some housework and look after those four kiddywinkles of mine : )

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #7

This is my first ever challenge entry!! I did this earlier in the week but have not had the blog set up properly 'til now and so it is just scraping in before the deadline. Now I can enter into all those challenges I see — time permitting of course : )
I am so glad to be able to participate in Makeesha's Inkspirations Challenges — I have been wanting too for soooo long. I thought the A Rose Is a Rose stamp set would work well for this challenge — I have been looking at the entries so far and it seems that set has been chosen by a few others too!
I have used some of the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper which co-ordinates so nicely with the rose stamps. Yes… once again I have thrown in some tearing and paper piercing. I promise I will do some cards sometime without any tearing : )
Wow, two posts in one day — not sure that I can keep that up though. LOL

Finally… my first post!!

It has taken me 3 weeks since I set up this blog to have the courage to post something. I have been a little nervous about the whole thing. But… here I am in the world of blogs.

Since this blog is all about stamping and paper craft, I thought I should begin with showing you one of my cards : )

I made this for someone as a welcome to Australia. Now that Stampin' Up have some Aussie blooms, I thought it would be a good one to use. I am loving this new stamp set Bloom Away.
The colours used are Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Riding Hood Red — love that colour!
There is some water colouring, a little paper piercing, that gorgeous new Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon and of course,  a bit of tearing which I love to do!

Well… thanks for stopping by. I hope to have another entry up later today if I can work out what I'm doing : )
